fear down, music up.

Danielle Dayton is a Calgary based singer-songwriter blending indie pop, folk and alternative influences with vivid storytelling and a dark, soulful voice.

A collection of songs about all the places our love and attention can go—to the people we miss, the ones we hope will choose us, the patterns we can’t quite let go of, the people who have been there all along, and the unexpected places love finds us.

And, eventually, learning how to save a little for ourselves.

where words, rhythm, and feeling meet.

Danielle Dayton has always been interested in the places where words, rhythm and feeling meet. The Calgary singer-songwriter blends indie pop, folk and alternative influences with vivid storytelling, a distinctive dark vocal timbre and a rhythmic sensibility shaped in part by a lifelong background in dance. Her songs move between intimate singer-songwriter moments and expansive full-band arrangements, always with the story at the centre.

Over more than a decade of making music, Danielle has taken her songs on a cross Canada tour, appeared at festivals, and earned an Edmonton Music Award nomination. Her songwriting has also taken her behind the scenes into sync, toplining, and production music, with work signed to international catalogues including Warner Chappell.

In 2026, Danielle made a deliberate shift: stepping away from full-time teaching and making more room for the creative life she had spent years building alongside it. Save a Little Love, her debut full-length album, marks that turning point—a record about where we place our love and attention, what we choose to hold onto, and learning to listen more closely to what we actually want.
